Outreach Engagement Project
Our job title is Outreach Engagement Workers. Our role is to engage with 'hard to reach people that may benefit from learning, training and work opportunities, and facilitate an ongoing link with a Key Worker who can move people forward in readiness to access learning, training and work opportunities. In doing this, we identify any barriers, both real and perceived to enable access to opportunities. This progression through the Key Worker is particularly 'user friendly' as beneficiaries progress at a rate and timescale suited to their needs and circumstances.
The client groups that we work with are wide and varied but must include the following criteria:
- Lives in South Yorkshire target areas (of which most of Doncaster is)
- 19+ with no upper age limit
- Workless themselves
- Partner of someone unemployed and/or on benefits
Has been 6 months or more unemployed or can be less than 6 months if:
- Disabled
- Ex-offender
- Lack of basic skills
- Refugee
- Cycle of temporary employment
- Long-term health conditions
Persons ineligible will be anyone engaged on any sort of New Deal program or on the Incapacity Benefit Pathways program.
We can engage with clients informally or formally - at their home, in our office or on the telephone - conducted with full sensitivity and confidentiality.
