Summer Holidays – RU Aware?

SYCIL will be offering childminders, holiday clubs, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows, Brownies and Guide groups fun disability awareness sessions through Interactive play throughout the school summer holidays. PROFESSIONAL PRODUCT TRAINING DAY

Wednesday 20 June

Free training day which includes a demonstration of THE Aqua Cleam 8000plus Care Shower Toilet and a presentation of a Functional Bathroom by Gerberit and Pressalit Care.

Drop In Support Group - THIRD WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH - NEXT GROUP 20 JUNE AT 10.30 AM

Peer support for Disabled People who would like to know more about Personal Budgets.  A member of staff will also be holding a Personal Budget Surgery. 

SYCIL Induction:  The next SYCIL Induction will be on Thursday 12 July 2012 between 9.30 am - 12 noon.  Open to all Student Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and new staff within the Health and Social Care.  Call Cheryl Stowe on 01302 89 29 49.

Family Fun Day - SATURDAY 23 JUNE - 11.00 am - 3.00 pm

Come and join us in a fun packed day. Sports of all kinds and for all abilities to watch and have a go at. Plus table top games, tombola, raffle, stalls, bouncey castle, barbecue and afternoon teas and much, much more!!

Everyone welcome, have a family day out and join in the fun, it will be great to see you!

Health, Safety & Employment Law - The Crucial Points - from FISH Insurance - 16 May

One day course ideal for people employing their own staff, direct payment workers, services support advisors and managers - 10.00 am - 2.30 pm

Confidence Building and Assertivness - 17 May 

9.30 am - 12 noon           

Personal Assistants Employers Workshop - from HMRC - 12 June

For help and advice about your tax and National Insurance obligations as an employer of Personal Assistants - 10.00 am - 1.00 pm

Disability Equality Training and Deaf Awareness - 24 May and 5 July

These two days of training consists of half day Disability Equality Training and half day Deaf Awareness.  It is funded by NLDC and includes a free lunch.

FUNDING BOOST TO EXISTING SYCIL PROJECT

 We are delighted to have received £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund Supporting Change funding.

The money has been awarded to build on the Choosing Independence project, which supports disabled people in Doncaster and Rotherham through the personal budget process, and work towards the sustainability of the project.

It will be used to support the development of plans for a flexible Personal Assistant service, the focus of which will be user choice and control.
